Tutorial: Book Page Wreath Ornament

Welcome to the 4th day of the Christmas Craft Marathon!!

Today's Book Page Wreath Ornament tutorial is just that, a little wreath made from squares cut from book pages!!  And they cost under 10 cents each to make!!  How fantastic is that!?!

Inspiration
The ornament is actually a miniature version of a gorgeous full-size wreath I recently discovered on The Shabby Nest!!  If you'd like to make a wreath like Wendy's (shown below) visit her Well-Read Christmas Wreath tutorial!!

Step 1: GATHER SUPPLIES
- Grey-board or cereal box cardboard (on hand)
- 2-4 Book Pages (on hand)
- 1/2" Satin Ribbon (5 cents or less - $1/roll at Dollar Tree)
- 1/8" Satin Ribbon (2 cents or less - $0.25/roll at Michael's on sale)
- Glue (on hand)

Step 2: PREP BASE
Trace a 3" circle on the grey-board.
Trace a 2" circle in the center of the first circle.
Cut out the wreath shape.
Add book page scraps to the cut-out to cover the grey-board.

Step 3: MAKE CONES
Cut or punch out about 36 squares that are 1.5"x1.5" from the book pages.
Roll squares into tight cones by overlapping adjacent edges.
Glue into place.

Step 4: ATTACH CONES
Glue 4 cones to the top, bottom, and sides of the wreath form.
Glue 4 more in between each of the first 4 cones.
Add 8 additional cones in between the first 8.
Glue a second layer of 16 on top of the bottom 16 cones, staggering them as shown in the picture below.

Step 5: ADD BOW
Tie a bow using the 1/2" ribbon and glue it to the wreath.

Step 6: ADD HANGER
Flip the wreath over and attach the 1/8" ribbon, looped into a hanger.

FINISHED!!

Thanks for reading!!  Until next time...
