Tutorial: Easy Ribbon Ornaments

Today's Easy Ribbon Ornament tutorial is super quick and super simple!!  It's another really inexpensive project too, costing under 10 cents!!  So let's get to the tutorial!!

Step 1: GATHER SUPPLIES

- Printed ribbon or stamped twill tape (5 cents - 1 roll of ribbon for $1 at Michael's)

- 2 craft sticks (1 cent - 1000 for $5 at most craft stores)

- Piece of hemp/jute (thin) (2 cents - rolls available at any craft store)

- Glue (on hand)

Step 2: CUT RIBBON & STICKS

Cut your ribbon/tape first, making sure to leave a little extra on either side of the words.

Cut your craft sticks so they'll be just little shorter than your ribbon/tape

Step 3: FRAY EDGES

Sorry for the poor photos in this step.

Add Glue

Add a strip of glue about a 1/4" away from either end of your ribbon/tape.

This will prevent it from fraying further than you'd like.

Fray Edges

Remove a few of the strands on the end and trim off.

Fray and "fluff" the edges to  your glue line.

Step 4: PREP BACK 

Add Hanger

If your ribbon/tape is pretty wide, then you'll want to use two craft sticks and glue them together before moving on.

Fold your hemp/jute in half and glue to the back of your craft sticks, making sure to cover your cord with glue as well.

Note: I put a small piece of tissue paper over the glue for extra hold.

Add Ribbon

Glue ribbon to the other side of your craft sticks using a thin, even layer of glue.

FINISHED!!
