Here's a super simple, but beautiful ornament for you to make!! It's a Spanish moss filled cone made of vintage sheet music and an aged book page. With a little bit of lace, it has a really feminine look. Let's get started...
GATHER SUPPLIES
5"x5.5" Piece of cardstock paper
Small section of sheet music
1 Book page
Aging medium
Lace
Chain
Charm
Jumprings
Glue
Step 1: PREP CONE
Fold over one corner of your cardstock so when you roll it into a cone it hangs in front.
Step 2: DECORATE CONE
Age Book Page
Use your aging medium (I used walnut ink spray) to "age" the paper.
Add to the front of the cardstock, under the flap you folded over.
Add Lace
Add a narrow strip of lace under the flap.
Add Sheet Music
Glue down a triangle of sheet music to completely cover the folded over flap.
Be sure to have enough to fold over the rim and into the cone at least 1/2" so it appears to come from inside the cone.
Step 3: FINISH CONE
Glue the two sides together with a 1/2" overlap.
Step 4: ADD CHAIN
Add Eyelets
Punch holes and add eyelets to both sides of the cone.
Add Chain
Using two large jumprings attach the chain to the cone.
Add a charm of some sort to the tip of the flap.
Note: I used a tiny picture frame with a section from the sheet music inside.
Step 6: ADD FILLER
Add some form of filler. I used Spanish moss from the dollar store.
FINISHED!!
Thanks for reading!! Until next time...
